When strangling figs are fruiting they often attract several  different species of of barbets as well as more than one individual of the same species of barbet. Some zoologists believe that many birds and mammals find  fruiting strangling figs by listening to barbet calls. Barbet calls may be used for both territorial warning and mate attraction. This Yellow-crowned Barbet is feeding on Ficus subgelderi figs next to the Belalong Canopy Walkway.
